India for Indians

A few years ago some political leaders announced that Maharashtra was only for Maharashtrians and that all others have to get out. That statement created quite a furore and people from all walks of life took objection. The cinema Industry too voiced their version that they were Indians first. Some Maharashtrians including Sachin Tendulkar chose not to follow the political leader's voice and declared themselves Indians first.

So, the call of the political leader was interesting in a way. Can we similarly initiate a call, India for Indians? But, before that, we need to clarify, who is an Indian? What makes a person an Indian? Does merely being born here or having an Indian passport make one Indian? My views are laid out below;

I'm an Indian because...

I aspire and contribute towards-Cleaner Air, Cleaner Water Resources, Lesser Sound and noise Pollution, Clean Streets, Clean Administration, Greener & Peaceful Surroundings, Preserving Forests, Rivers, Streams, Lakes, Ponds

I exemplify by maintaining -Clean Home, purity of thought, speech and action, Purity of Heart through Yoga, prayer and meditation. I will honour my faith and that of others. I use my intelligence for the common good of my brethren (fellow Indians), I work to my highest potential, I maintain a high Self Confidence and protect my Integrity and that of my motherland, I share love and compassion with all of creation, I follow traffic rules and develop sensitivity towards pedestrians and follow a pedestrians first principle, I conduct my business ethically.

Amidst all these, I strive to be a better human being and make India a better place for ourselves and our visitors.

To me, there is no greater joy than a mass enlightenment.

We all need to start. We, the people of India need to bring back its glory. We need to shine as a country for the world community to lookup to for direction. We need to be the torch bearers.

Come, let's inspire one another and start the march towards enlightenment.
